Church Member Life

Scripture teaches that it is a privilege to belong to the church of Jesus Christ. As Christ’ church, we are joined together by our union with Christ himself with goal of worshiping our Heavenly Father, encouraging one another, and reaching our community with the good news of salvation.\

Woodcrest members surrender their lives in three areas

as members of this unique body of believers.

We attend.

That may sound simple; however, we pledge to be faithful in our attendance to God’s house. Since we love Jesus as Lord, we also love our brothers and sisters in Christ and look forward to worshiping together every week.

“Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25

When we meet together as the “body of Christ,” there is a special bond because we have joined together with the same heart, mind and purpose.

We Give.

Yes, we gladly give to God’s kingdom work. Our pledge is to give a tithe (10% of our income) and many faithfully give an offering (above the tithe) as well. We give so that God’s kingdom may advance and so that we can shine the light of Jesus in our community. We give so that our members and guests may be blessed, encouraged and strengthened in their faith. Our giving provides a number of ministries to those who attend. We offer Awana to any child who chooses to attend and we offer a number of other programs as well. We provide for our student ministries and offer many community outreach events, all free of charge.

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 1 Corinthians 9:7

Our goal at Woodcrest is to be the hands and feet of Jesus here in Catoosa and to cheerfully give as God has blessed us. However, Woodcrest is glad to partner with many other mission organizations around the world. We gladly give 15% of our budget to missions and other causes. We hope to honor God in all our giving.

We Serve.

Jesus said; “just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Just as our Lord came to serve, so we choose to serve as well. Our goal is to be like Jesus and Jesus chose to serve us. He served us because he loves us. Remember Jesus’ words in John 13:34-35:

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Woodcrest Church is an attending, giving and serving church. Over seventy-five percent of our membership serves in ministry. Ministries including lawn care, greeter, nursery, Awana, student ministry, events and even church dinners, our members show a sweet spirit and a serving heart.

If you believe it is time for you to become a member at Woodcrest, the Pastor will gladly visit with you. We invite you to become a part of the greatest organization on earth, the Church of Jesus Christ.
