    Words That Lack Wisdom
Have you ever made a promise you later regretted?  Proverbs 16:24 says: "Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." King Saul made a foolish oath in an effort to look good to others but his heart was dark.  Let us be reminded that when we are "clothed with humility", then we can speak words filled with wisdom.

    Losing Your Edge
Each of us have a job or assignment from God. Sometimes we feel as though we're working, but have lost our effectiveness, determination, resolve or desire and we are just "going through the motions."  Let's learn from the young prophet in 2 Kings 6 what to do when we "Lose Our Edge."

    God’s Instruction, Our Choice?
The spiritual walls of our country are in ruins. While many have a casual concern, what we really need is to be gripped with a burden for our sins and the sins of the nation like Nehemiah.  God's Word tells us we are the solution:  "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

    The Turn
    Series: King Saul
King Saul had a "moment in time" when he feared his circumstances more than he believed and trusted in God. We all have "moments" in our lives.  When King Saul turned from being a humble, unassuming young man into an impatient, self-reliant, independent king.  How will we respond?

    A Father’s Influence
Today is a great day to decide to be a father of influence for Jesus. Men are generally willing to fight for many things. The question is, "Are you willing to fight on your knees for the eternal destiny of your family?"

Is It Time To Get Out Of The Boat?
There are moments in our lives when God sends us places we would rather not go; seasons in our lives when Jesus sets us up for a faith-building opportunity; times when we find ourselves in a storm. Will we ask as Peter did; “Lord, if it is you, tell me to come to you on the water.” Maybe it is time to get out of the boat.

    The Mystery of Worship

Some think that worship is when we go to church, sing some songs and listen to a sermon.  But in reality, "Worship happens when people connect with God." It has been said that worship is like a ladder that connects heaven and earth. Can you honestly say that you meet with God in worship?

    The Mystery of God’s Temple
Just like the Old Testament temple, what makes the believer "a sacred temple"  is God living in us. "Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?  If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple."  1 Cor. 3:16-17

    Sacred Mystery of Church
Did you know that the church was God's idea? To God, the church of Jesus Christ is sacred. This morning we begin a new series in conjunction with the reading of "Letters to the Church".
