Prayer Ministry

The prayer ministry at Woodcrest is designed to follow the command of Jesus when he quoted Isaiah 56:7 by saying, “My house will be called a house of prayer” (Matthew 21:13). We preach, teach, talk about and encourage prayer among the membership of our church.

Sunday Morning Opportunity for Prayer

Each Sunday morning an invitation is given following a message from God’s Word (The Bible). If you have a need and choose to go to the front for prayer, someone will be glad to meet there and pray with you.

If you choose not to come forward, Woodcrest has a team of prayer partners who will be glad to pray with you following the worship service. Feel free to go to the Pastor or anyone who was on stage that morning and they will pray with you for find a Prayer Partner to pray with you.

Feel free also to submit a prayer request by completing the Connect Card on the back of the chairs and placing in the offering plate.

Pastor’s Prayer Partners

Our membership have the opportunity to make a commitment to pray for our Pastor and worship services on a weekly basis. These are men and women to commit to pray specifically, in faith, believing God will answer their prayers. The Pastor’s Prayer Team also meets once a month in the Pastor’s office for prayer. These prayer volunteers pray for our Pastor, the Praise Team, and the message. They also pray for those in attendance, that the Holy Spirit will touch the hearts of those who are lost and speak to those who are in need through the Word of God.

Wednesday Bible Study and Prayer

Each Wednesday evening, those adults who are not serving in Awana or the Student Ministry meet in the sanctuary for Bible study and prayer. Beth Sullivan directs the Prayer Ministry here at Woodcrest. She does a great job preparing the prayer list and reporting answers to prayer each week. This dedicated group believers are faithful to pray for specific prayer requests received by phone, email or connect cards turned in on Sunday mornings.
