Giving

God commanded tithes and offerings in the Old Testament, Jesus Christ endorsed it in the Gospel, and Apostle Paul said “Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him (1 Corinthians 16:2).

At Woodcrest we are honored to follow the teaching of scripture and practice the giving of our tithes (a tenth of our income) and offerings (a gift above the tithe) to God.  Through the use of technology there are now numerous ways to give to God’s Kingdom work and be faithful stewards of His blessings.

  • Sunday morning worship
  • Automatic Bank Bill Pay
  • Share Faith Giving

Automatic Bank Pay is a popular and convenient way to give regularly and consistently to furthering God’s Work at Woodcrest.  When travel, illness, or unexpected circumstances keep you from attending, this program will allow you to maintain faithfully giving without any interruptions.

Each bank is set up slightly differently but general instructions include:

  • Log in to your online banking
  • Select “Bill Pay”
  • Select “Add Payee”
  • Enter appropriate information for Woodcrest Church
  • Designate in the “Memo Line” the intended use of your gift

You can set up a one time payment in any amount of your choosing or recurring payments during a specific date each month.  Payments can be changed or stopped at any time.

We also offer Sharefaith Giving with online giving to those who wish to donate via credit card.  Sharefaith offers a safe and secure way to make your gifts available to our church.

The Apostle Paul further said:  “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.  Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”  2 Corinthians 9:6-7

We give cheerfully when we understand that God gave His all when He sent His only Son, Jesus to die on the cross to purchase our salvation.  Therefore, we gladly honor God by giving the tithe and offering to our Lord.

With your tithes and offerings,

Woodcrest is able to be God’s hands extended to both our community and around the world.
